Child Custody Devotional – A Zen Boulder

A spiritual leader often walked with his students. They understood both its practical and meditative value.

The pair happened upon a large boulder, shaped and hardened by thousands of years of changing environments.

“Do you see that boulder?” the leader asked his student.

—“Yes, of course,” replied the disciple.

“Do you think it’s heavy?” the leader continued.

—“Yes, of course! It’s huge and must be extremely heavy.”

“It’s not heavy,” the teacher smiled, “if you don’t pick it up.”
