Child Custody Devotional – Every one of us has all we need.

Every one of us has all we need. – John Lennon / Paul McCartney

So normally I pick out a Bible verse to write about on Sundays. But wisdom, even spiritual insight, comes from anywhere and everywhere. That’s because fundamental truth is just that, and it’s not confined to a certain book or genre or silo or day of the week…or even a certain John or a certain Paul. Just like gravity is the same for everyone, truth is truth.

And we’d do well to remember what this John and this Paul tell us here about gratitude and availability of resources. Like manna from heaven we have breath in our lungs and time on the table, and that’s all we need to get started. (Regular readers will notice how much I talk about our breath on Sundays).

I didn’t always have gas in my car, but I knew how to help parents and relatives be effective in #ChildCustody cases. I didn’t always know how to do that either, but I had (and still have) what another John (Mayer) called “a will to work hard and a library card.” It’s stewardship guys, the best allocation of the abundant resources with which we’ve already been blessed.

You are a whole, complete creation in God’s image; you lack for nothing. You may not have the things or the situation you want in your life right now this moment, but you have the tools and, as hard as it may be to believe, you really do have the time to put those tools and time and energy to work creating the life you want for yourself and your family. You already have everything you need.
