Child Custody Devotional – On Daylight Saving

“And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day…” 1 Samuel 9:26

~

No, you didn’t sleep in more than usual. #DaylightSavingsTime is here! Spring forward, everyone. For the next few months, each day greets us with two wonderful opportunities.

~

First, arise early and greet the dawn when you can. This is that much easier when we track the sun’s rise an hour later. In the midst of #childcustody and #coparenting strife, we’ve a daily reminder that the sun will still rise and shine upon you…and your problems…and your opportunities. Welcome the chance each new day to take on a new challenge at work, at home or in your relationships, either with others, or more importantly, with yourself.

~ Second, get outside after work, after school, after virtual, after Zoom. Take a walk, squeeze in nine holes of golf…play outside. Bask in the splendor of creation. Life is all around you; life was around before your problems, and will be around long after them. There is so much to be grateful for; there is so much to have perspective on. For the next few, fleeting months there’s a little more light on the subject.
