Show Some Love In Your Child Custody Case

You love your child. Of course you do, we know that. We also know that you want to get on the stand and tell the judge how much you love your child. The judge knows. The judge believes you. What’s more important is not that you make grand statements or proclamations of your affection for your child, but what you are actually doing for your child on a day to day basis.

If you love your child, then you care about their education. If you care about their education, then it’s likely you’ve met with their teacher. If you’ve met with their teacher, then you have someone you can work with to ensure your child is getting the most out of his/her time in school.

If you love your child, then you care about his/her health and well being. If you care about your child’s health and well being, then you’ve taken your child to the doctor. If you’ve taken your child to the doctor, then you know the doctor’s name and you’ve scheduled your child’s next appointment.

If you love your child, then you want him/her to grow up in a healthy environment. If you want your child to grow up in a healthy environment, then you keep a clean home, feed your child well balanced meals, and teach your child good personal hygiene practices and manners.

If you love your child, then you will provide for your child financially. If you want to provide for your child financially, then you will find a job, or two, or three.

If you love your child, then you will make an effort to be healthy. If you make an effort to be healthy, you may live long enough to see your child grow up and have children and grandchildren of their own.

So how can you show some love in your child custody case? The point is, you’re not just showing your love in the courtroom – you’re showing your love every single day by caring for your child, making sacrifices for your child, getting to know your child, and being involved in your child’s life. After school, work, appointments, afternoon activities, etc. is all said and done, you may have only an hour or two to spend with your child. That doesn’t seem like a lot, does it? But the judge sees everything you do on a daily basis to give your child the best life you possibly can. The judge sees that your child is the number one priority in your life. At the end of the day, not only will your case be better, but your child and your family will be better off as well. And that’s the most important thing.
