We Help Fathers Get Joint Physical Custody

“The court shall in every case consider joint custody…” § 30-3-152(a), Ala. Code 1975

^^^ anybody who has spent any time in this game knows this doesn’t happen. I guess credit is due to the Judges that are bold enough to just admit they’re not going to do it (see dog-whistle language in photo at bottom). That said, it’s the law. And we represent plenty of fathers who believe, as the law on the books says, that they’re just as much a parent as the child’s mother…

~

And we represent plenty of mothers who utilize, as the law on the books provides, a father’s equal time with the child to further their careers, education, take care of personal projects or even just take a well-deserved break…

~

And we represent plenty of caring relatives who have stepped up, as the law on the books encourages, and believe they’re just as much a parent as anyone else involved…

~

So we end up fighting for Joint Custody a lot. We end up fighting for equality and, frankly, progress in a Court system that seems to think it knows a woman’s place better than the oddly apt law on the books does.
