Grant Wideman

Grant Wideman is a family law attorney and Lead Counsel at Foxtrot Family Law, practicing out of the firm’s Huntsville office and representing individuals and families throughout Madison County, Huntsville, Guntersville, Florence, Athens, and the rest of North Alabama. Grant devotes his practice exclusively to complex family law litigation, including divorce, child custody, custody and child support modification, adoption, and DHR defense/dependency matters.

Grant began his legal career as bailiff and law clerk to the Honorable Martha Williams of the 32nd Judicial Circuit, then clerked at Fuller, Willingham & Carter, where the late Wayne Fuller inspired him to devote his career to family law. At Peeples Law, he handled complex family law matters involving the Hague Convention and high-value marital estates, and he later assisted with high-asset divorce litigation at Crittenden Partners. He returned to the courtroom as law clerk to the Honorable Brian Huff of the 10th Judicial Circuit before joining Porter, Porter & Hassinger, where he defended municipalities in civil litigation and served as a closing attorney and attorney underwriter.

When the opportunity arose to practice family law exclusively at Foxtrot Family Law, serving clients across Huntsville and North Alabama, he seized it without hesitation. Grant brings a litigator’s preparation to every matter, from contested custody and high-conflict divorce to DHR dependency proceedings, building each case with the record in mind.

A 2020 graduate of the University of North Alabama (B.A., Political Science, magna cum laude), Grant received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2023, graduating in the top 14 percent of his class.
