Yes, gay marriage is legal in Alabama. The Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide on June 26, 2015, in the landmark case of Obergefell v. Hodges. This means that all states, including Alabama, are required to recognize and allow same-sex marriages. Following the Supreme Court’s decision, Alabama began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
